Cataract is a defect, whereby the internal lens of your eye becomes cloudy. The eye lens is situated on the iris (the coloured part of the eye) and helps the eye to focus on images, thus ensuring visual acuity. The cloudiness of the lens leads to the deterioration of vision.
At the initial stages of cataract, the eyeglasses can be simply replaced to improve visual acuity. However, the vision will gradually continue to deteriorate, as the cataract progresses. Cataract damage will never improve or be reduced, it can either stay unchanged or slowly deteriorate.
Cataract cannot be treated with medications, pills or exercise, the only therapy is the removal of the natural lens of the eye and replacement thereof with an artificial lens.
